Chapter Chapter 6 in The Economics of MotoGP, 2025, pp 107-128 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter will discuss the professional survival of riders and teams in highly competitive sports, as MotoGP is. We will discuss how there exist other dimensions besides victories or podiums (usually anticipating higher inflows of resources for the teams) that enhance the survival of racers and of their teams. We will also analyse how familiar, local and even national support can be relevant in this discussion.
