Chapter Chapter 12 in Sustainable Economic Development, 2025, pp 327-353 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter discusses the importance of social and financial inclusion in the processes leading to sustainable development. By using bibliometric analyses, the research investigates the correlations among financial and social inclusion and sustainable development. The study’s objective is to highlight the key concepts in this research area and summarize key findings of existing literature. The chapter uses as a base the trends in the paper’s number, keyword analysis, and further investigation of its progress over time, along with the main authors, the papers with the highest citations, key countries, and journals. Bibliometric analyses are done by using the VOSviewer program. The research shows certain directions highlighting the function of social and financial inclusion in fostering economic advancement, declining the level of income inequality, reducing poverty, and alleviating climate change. Our recommendations outline preventive measures aimed at raising the financial literacy of people, making a wide range of services available to everyone, and providing equal opportunities for financial growth. Findings refer as an appeal to policymakers to integrate social and financial inclusion as the components of sustainable development.
