Abstract: Abstract This chapter draws on the work of the European Joint Action on Prevention and Management of Frailty (2017–2019) that frames frailty as a public health challenge. It describes the consequences of frailty for older people and for health and care systems, outlining the evidence for adopting an integrated model of care for the prevention and management of frailty.
