Chapter Chapter 4 in Vulnerability and the Future of Small Business in Industry 5.0, 2026, pp 81-105 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the context of Industry 5.0, small businesses are confronted with a number of challenges, including limited financial resources and technological constraints. However, their flexibility and adaptability provide opportunities to leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and machine learning. This chapter examines the potential of integrating SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) analyses as strategic tools. Combining SWOT and SOAR analyses provides a robust framework for small businesses to align their internal capabilities with external market demands. This alignment fosters innovation and long-term competitiveness, enabling small businesses to overcome resource limitations and position themselves strategically in the complex Industry 5.0 landscape.
