Abstract:
Abstract This book studied the impact of a microprudential and macroprudential regulation on the lending behaviour of financial institutions. Specifically, the research studied the impact of changes in regulatory capital requirements on the lending behaviour of Canadian banks. The general introduction presents an overview of regulatory capital requirements and financial soundness indicators, an evolution of Basel Accords, and a summary of capital requirements rules set by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).
