Chapter Chapter 4 in The Political Economy of Indonesia’s Economic Development, Volume II, 2025, pp 101-135 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The decade between 2004 and 2014 represents a pivotal period in Indonesia’s post-authoritarian transformation, marked by both economic consolidation and political maturity. Under the presidency of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)—the country’s first directly elected head of state—Indonesia experienced a sustained stretch of macroeconomic growth, institutional strengthening, and improved global economic positioning.
