Chapter Chapter 12 in Integral Methods in Science and Engineering, 2026, pp 173-185 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The main objective of this work was to study the two-dimensional mathematical model of contaminant transport located in the soil below a landfill. In addition, this study carried out computer simulations of the model to observe through the results, how the propagation of the contaminant behaves and how it harms the ground water table, considering several parameters, such as the Péclet number, the soil retardation factor and a typical length of the landfill.
