Chapter 1 in Co-creating Luxury Customer Experiences in Tourism, 2026, pp 1-5 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This book provides insight into the luxury yacht (or superyacht) charter market, a specific sector of the luxury tourism market and the industry that serves it. While luxury travel services generally include the most desirable and premium experiences in terms of luxurious accommodations, convenient transport facilities and authentic travel experiences, the luxury yacht charter market is distinct from the cruise market or even the luxury cruise market. Making the luxury yacht charter market distinct is the fact that the consumers (guests) consume bespoke experiences where they co-create their vacation experience with the crew of the yacht and the various agencies facilitating the luxury yacht charter market, such as crew agencies, manufacturers and destination management organisations.
