Abstract: Abstract The need for a more sustainable future has never been more evident, pressing for significant changes in how companies produce and consumers interact with goods and services. At the core of this transition are two interconnected concepts: product-service systems (PSS) (Goedkoop et al., 1999), which have been developed as a novel approach to meeting consumer needs sustainably by combining products and services, and the emerging related notion of sustainable servitization. The latter idea is grounded in adding a sustainability emphasis to the well-established servitization concept (Rabetino et al., 2024), typically defined as the strategic transition from selling products and basic services to offering products and services, which involves adopting specific PSS-oriented business models (e.g., use- or result-oriented models) during the implementation (Rabetino et al., 2018).
