Chapter Chapter 3 in Financial Social Media, 2026, pp 37-50 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Web operators, including major companies like Google and Yahoo, along with Internet service providers (ISPs) such as America Online (AOL) and Comcast, routinely track Internet users' IP addresses. In many cases, they may also collect personal information like email addresses, dates of birth, and home addresses during the registration process. These operators typically disclose that they may share personal information to law enforcement agencies or other relevant parties if they suspect any form of misconduct, including securities fraud.
