Chapter Chapter 2 in Sustainable Economic Development and the European Green Deal, 2026, pp 43-97 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In a global context characterized by economic, social and environmental challenges, economic models are fundamental tools for analysing sustainable development and informing public policy. These models are designed to assess the current dynamics of economies and to produce forecasts to support the development of effective economic strategies tailored to medium- and long-term sustainability objectives (Hariram et al., 2023; Stevanović et al., 2023). Through their ability to integrate multiple variables and provide alternative scenarios, economic models allow a better understanding of the impact of various policies on sustainable development, thus facilitating informed decision-making at governmental and international level (Pallaske, 2024; Son et al., 2023).
