A chapter in Pedagogical Case Studies in Purchasing and Supply Management, 2026, pp 329-345 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This case study examines how blockchain technology can improve efficient dispute resolution and promote avoidance in procurement and supply management within complex construction supply chains. Using a case study of an offshore Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) project, it demonstrates how blockchain supports purchasing processes by enhancing transparency, automating smart contract execution, and minimising conflicts. The study offers an applied perspective for legal and supply chain professionals, providing practical value for postgraduate teaching on technology-driven transformation in procurement. Drawing on the author’s practical experience, the case demonstrates the value and outcomes of digital transformation across various disciplines and levels of study.
