Chapter Chapter 14 in The Two Irelands and the Diaspora, 2026, pp 283-295 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the 1960s, the Northern Ireland authorities succeeded in creating a small network of Northern Irish businessmen in the United States who helped them to attract American investment. However, unlike Ireland, this was not the most successful formula at the time. It was not until the nationalist parties came to power in a multi-party executive under the Good Friday Agreement that contacts were made at the initiative of the City of Belfast, which established a network in the United States of businessmen, whose ancestors originated from the island of Ireland.
