Chapter 1 in Board Gender Diversity and Critical Mass Theory, 2026, pp 3-13 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Gender diversity on corporate boards has been a subject of considerable debate, particularly in assessing its effectiveness. This book aims to validate the critical mass theory by examining the measures used to stimulate growth in the number of women on corporate boards through the implementation of quotas. It also examines the token theory before expanding on critical mass theory, assessing its effectiveness and level of support.
