Chapter 8 in Board Gender Diversity and Critical Mass Theory, 2026, pp 213-227 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we provide a brief overview of the various theories that underpin BGD studies. We show in [] the frequency of the theories identified in our research sample. We have excluded those theories which have been used only once (decision-making, double standard, dynamic managerial capability, ecofeminism, governance, information asymmetry, institutional trust, neopluralism, outcome, self-categorisation, and similarity attraction). Many of the theories are closely related to each other; however, we have maintained their separation in accordance with the published literature.
