A chapter in Knowledge Management and Innovation, Volume II, 2026, pp 67-82 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This study explores how human-centric work design (HCWD) fosters creativity and innovation by emphasizing employee engagement, diversity, inclusion, and well-being. It examines how leadership practices and the integration of physical and virtual environments enhance problem-solving and innovative thinking. Using a conceptual framework, literature review, workplace design principles, and real-world examples, the study defines key concepts such as creativity and HCWD while distinguishing between virtual and physical work contexts. The findings identify essential elements for HCWD and creativity, highlighting critical factors that influence innovation across different workplace settings. The study contributes actionable strategies and leadership insights for implementing HCWD to strengthen organizational creativity and adaptability. Although it does not include empirical data, it provides a foundational framework for future research to empirically assess the impact of HCWD on creativity and innovation.
