Overview of the educational system

Chapter 3 in The Origins of Holomorphic Dynamics, 2026, pp 19-31 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There are common traits between Enlightenment and differential calculus; one is the strenuous struggle against less effective cultures, another is the resistance to self-criticism. We will focus on some European educational systems between the XVIII and XIX centuries, with special attention to the French one, in order to obtain an overview of the cultural context in which the events covered in the next chapters will take place.
