Abstract: Abstract Mathematics is first and foremost an abstract discipline and deserves to be considered an autonomous research area, independent of physics. Analysts gained this awareness during the XIX century. Thought is immaterial and represents the natural habitat of mathematical formulas, which formalize relationships and do not exist as material objects.
