Chapter Chapter 11 in Inclusive Leadership and Employee Voice, 2026, pp 159-172 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter analyses the dynamics of inclusive leadership and employee voice within the context of emerging economies, with a particular focus and emphasis on Southeastern Europe. We explore the unique challenges and opportunities that arise in this rapidly developing region, where economic growth, political transitions, and cultural diversity intersect and, arguably, conflict. The chapter examines how inclusive leadership practices can, and should, be tailored to address the specific needs of diverse workforces in emerging economies, highlighting the critical role of local cultural factors in shaping not only leadership styles but also employee engagement. This chapter also illustrates how inclusive leadership can enhance employee voice, drive engagement, and improve organisational outcomes within the particularly complex contexts of emerging markets. Additionally, we discuss barriers to inclusivity, such as entrenched power dynamics, historical inequalities, and variable levels of institutional support.
