Abstract: Abstract Emerging markets are at the heart of the global sustainability challenge, facing the overlapping pressures of climate change, socio-economic inequality, as well as underinvestment. In this chapter, we introduce the critical role of the circular economy and net-zero transitions as integrated solutions to these challenges. We explore global disparities in emissions, policy responses, and economic resilience, while simultaneously examining the structural diversity of emerging economies. Drawing on institutional, diffusion of innovation, and resource-based theoretical frameworks, we offer a systemic lens for understanding governance gaps, financial constraints, and technology adoption. We argue for an inclusive, adaptive, and context-sensitive path to sustainable development in the Global South.
