Abstract: Abstract This chapter examines how emerging-market firms pursue net-zero and circular economy goals amid institutional fragility, limited financing, and capability gaps. Drawing on the resource-based view, it analyses how technological, financial and human resources influence the credibility and execution of climate commitments. Sustainability integration is explored through practices such as emissions tracking, product redesign, and reverse logistics, while considering contextual challenges, including fragmented supply chains and informal economies. The chapter highlights the enabling roles of blended finance, innovation ecosystems, and adaptive policy frameworks. While some firms demonstrate progress, the majority remain in symbolic compliance. Strategic enablers and context-specific solutions are outlined, with an emphasis on capability development and institutional alignment.
