Chapter 1 in Managing Information Singularity, 2026, pp 1-8 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter serves as the introduction to our book. It argues that the accelerating convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum technologies compresses the traditional information cycle beyond the capacity of conventional human and institutional oversight. By tracing the historical evolution of IS from early data-processing frameworks to contemporary socio-technical systems, the chapter situates current transformations within a long continuum of technological and organizational co-evolution and positions Information Singularity as both a managerial threshold and a call to action. Through this chapter, we also provide an overview of the book, its methodological framework, and the main findings of the study, aiming to equip practitioners, educators, and policymakers with a roadmap for deliberate adaptation to the epoch of inevitable change.
