Programming in Linear Spaces

Leonid Hurwicz

A chapter in Traces and Emergence of Nonlinear Programming, 2014, pp 131-195 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The present study has its origin in problems of optimal resource allocation, especially those related to the possibilities of a price mechanism. While for some purposes Pareto-optimality might be the more relevant concept, we have confined ourselves here to the case where by " optimal" is meant " efficient" resource allocation.
