Abstract:
Résumé Pour pouvoir bien préciser le théorème qui fait l’objet de la présente Note et qui contient comme cas spécial le théorème que j’ai communiqué à l’Académie le 3 décembre dernier [ce volume, p. 655–656], il me faut, en premier lieu, fixer le sens que j’attache à la notion de point critique. Or la définition que j’adopterai est la suivante: un point z 0 est dit point critique (ou singulier) de la fonction analytique f(z), s’il existe une ligne continue L joignant le point z 0 au centre a d’un élément P ( z | a ) = c + 0 c 1 ( z − a ) + c 2 ( z − a ) 2 + ... $$P(z|a) = c{}_0 + {c_1}(z - a) + {c_2}{(z - a)^2} + ...$$ de la fonction telle que P(z | a) puisse être prolongé le long de L jusqu’à chaque point de L, le point z 0 excepté (voir C. Jordan, Cours d’Analyse, vol. I, 2me éd., Paris 1893, nos. 336–352).
