Chapter Chapter 6 in Numerical Methods for Grid Equations, 1989, pp 65-124 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter we will look at two-level iterative methods for solving the operator equation Au = f. The iterative parameters are chosen using a priori information about the operators from the iterative scheme. In Section 6.1 we pose the problem of choosing the parameters for the two-level scheme. In Section 6.2 and 6.3 this problem is solved in the self-adjoint case. In Section 6.4 we study several ways of choosing the parameters in the non-self-adjoint case based on the volume of a priori information. In Section 6.5 we look at several sample applications of these methods for solving grid equations.
