A chapter in Pedestrian and Evacuation Dynamics 2012, 2014, pp 683-689 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We introduce a new type of update for cellular automata representing pedestrian traffic on a lattice. We investigate this update analytically and by Monte-Carlo simulations on a simple model. We are able to predict the fundamental diagram, and phase diagrams in several geometries.
