Chapter Chapter 1 in Janus-Faced Probability, 2014, pp 3-8 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract It may be said that the probability calculus is infiltrating almost all the areas of research and common life. Investors forecast the chances of making profits; politicians try to see the orientation of compatriots; sick persons want information about the possibility of them healing from a disease; engineers figure out the state of a construction. Probability is used in analyzing genetics, weather prediction, and a myriad of other everyday events.
