Abstract:
Abstract Media communication and digital culture are creating a “new looking era” where images are at the center of contemporary culture. In this context, the language of images has assumed a central role in communication and has become an essential tool for interdisciplinary connection, exchange and cross-disciplinary contamination. A genuine “iconic turn” took place at different levels. As Gottfried Boehm writes in the book The Return of the Images, we are witnessing a revolution that began in the nineteenth century, by integrating the image and the word in the same interpretative model.
