A chapter in The Visual Language of Technique, 2015, pp 11-30 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Ludwig Wittgenstein asserted: “The limits of my language are the limits of my world”, remarking the connection between language and knowledge. Is the statement still valid in the case of the visual language of technique? From the side of Biology Stephen Polyak could suggest that at the beginning of the evolution eye and brain formed a single organ. From the side of Anthropology Régis Debray could mention at least three Visual Ages in the history of the human beings’ culture. Closer to Techniques and between Science and Art, the entire work of Leonardo Da Vinci should dispel any doubts. May these references encourage us to legitimate the proposed question?
