A chapter in High Performance Computing in Science and Engineering ‘14, 2015, pp 433-446 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The enhancement of the structured Computational Fluid Dynamics code FLOWer and three applications are presented. FLOWer has been improved by implementing a fifth order scheme for flow state reconstruction. The benefits of the improved vertex conservation are shown in a trimmed and weakly coupled main rotor simulation. Additionally, because of the reduced numeric dissipation, results of flow simulations of brownout conditions are massively improved. Finally the possibilities for acoustic evaluations are shown at the example of two different setups of Contra-Rotating Open Rotors.
