Abstract:
Abstract The principle of least squares is introduced to determine the best fitting straight line. The coefficient of determination is discussed as a measure of how well the straight line fits the data. Estimation and testing of the slope and intercept coefficients is introduced. Confidence intervals on the predictions made by the regression line are discussed. Finally, residual analysis is presented.
