Chapter 3 in Service Industry Databook, 2015, pp 17-55 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides data on service sector exports from and imports to the United States; extent of internationalization of a particular sector measured through export and import ratio; extent of foreign investment in the industry sector measured through foreign investment ratio; degree of asset intensity of the industry sector; degree of labor intensity of the industry measured through the labor ratio; profits before taxes; and sector output. Elaboration of the variables covered in this chapter along with their specific operationalization and data sources are provided at the beginning of each subsection. At the bottom of each corresponding table, a short note is provided on the data source and its operationalization if applicable.
