Chapter 5 in Service Industry Databook, 2015, pp 191-223 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides data for service industry sector industries on a global basis, in particular, Gross Profit Ratio, selling and administrative ratio, leverage and industry concentration at a 2-digit and 3-digit SIC level global level. Limitations of this data, as presented in Chap. 1, should be taken into consideration when interpreting the numbers. Elaboration of the variables covered in this chapter along with their specific operationalization and data sources are provided at the beginning of each subsection. At the bottom of each corresponding table, a short note is provided on the data source and its operationalization if applicable.
