Etiquette with Chinese Characteristics

Wei Yen

Chapter 9 in From the Great Wall to Wall Street, 2017, pp 165-178 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract As China modernizes, it imports more and more Western culture and etiquette. The pace at which this is happening is at least as fast as the economy is growing. Over time, Western etiquette has been skillfully assimilated into the Chinese mainstream. It now looks and feels Chinese.
