Abstract: Abstract This chapter deals with the transition from the present regime of bankmoney to a plain sovereign money system, explaining the basic features and possible variants of such a transition, and discussing the continuities and changes for central banks, banks, government and bank customers, as well as the related advantages and supposed disadvantages.
