Chapter Chapter 8 in Business Innovation Through Blockchain, 2017, pp 145-166 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This Chapter focuses on examples of innovation solutions in practice, providing fact-sheets of eight interesting ideas in the field of blockchain technology worldwide in 2016. The underlying rationale in order to select those ideas was twofold. First, the aim was to present innovative solutions on the areas that this book has already discussed in previous chapters. Second, most of the selected ideas are based on innovative research projects that have successfully become start-ups and/or spin-offs and have already reached the market. In accordance with my previous volume, each innovation is described by an introduction, highlighting the main characteristics of the application or software, some general information about its developers and their motivation behind their solution is provided, accompanied by the main company competitiveness indicators for time-to-market as well as indicators of user value in terms of perception, such as the user experience and the so called «Wow» effect.
