Chapter Chapter 7 in Generalized Locally Toeplitz Sequences: Theory and Applications, 2017, pp 115-141 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The theory of LT sequences dates back to Tilli’s pioneering paper [120]. It was then carried forward by the second author during the last decade [106, 107], and it was finally reviewed and extended in [61]. Despite all the work that followed the publication of [120], Tilli’s wonderful introduction still remains the most illuminating way to start the theory of LT sequences. The next section is therefore devoted to this introduction, which we reproduce herein without significant changes. Afterwards, we will develop the theory of LT sequences on an abstract level, abandoning Tilli’s paper [120] and following the modern a.c.s.-based approach [61].
