Chapter Chapter 1 in Bernstein Operators and Their Properties, 2017, pp 1-73 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Throughout the book we will use the notation φ ( x ) = x ( 1 − x ) , x ∈ [ 0 , 1 ] $$\varphi (x) = \sqrt{x(1 - x)},\quad x \in [0,1]$$ and, for a non negative integer j, e j ( x ) = x j , x ∈ ℝ . $$e_{j}(x) = x^{j},\quad x \in \mathbb{R}.$$ Moreover, ℙ n $$\mathbb{P}_{n}$$ denotes the family of all algebraic polynomials of degree no greater than n.
