Abstract: Abstract Mathematics and art interact in surprisingly many different ways. These include mutual goals of seeking insights into the world we live in, the “human condition,” and creating beautiful works. Mathematics provides tools for the generation of art (e.g., perspective) and concepts that inspire artists. Many mathematicians choose to express themselves through art in addition to proving theorems. The interaction of mathematics and art has been beneficial for both subjects.
