Abstract: Abstract In our discussion of the free particle, we used just the actions of the groups $$\mathbf R^3$$ of spatial translations and the group $$\mathbf R$$ of time translations, finding corresponding observables, the self-adjoint momentum, and Hamiltonian operators $$\mathbf P$$ and H.
