Chapter Chapter 9 in Introduction to Relation Algebras, 2017, pp 385-401 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Every homomorphic image of a relation algebra $$ \mathfrak{U} $$ is isomorphic to a quotient of $$ \mathfrak{U} $$ modulo some ideal, by the First Isomorphism Theorem 8.39. Larger ideals lead to structurally simpler homomorphic images than smaller ideals, because larger ideals “glue” more elements together than smaller ones.
