Abstract:
Abstract This chapter is devoted to the application of phase space analysis to plate models. Our main focus is on the discussion of different damped plate models. On the one hand we study classical damped plate models with and without additional regularity of the data and derive estimates, even for the energies of higher order. On the other hand, we study a viscoelastic damped plate model and show a different influence of this special case of structural damping in comparison with the influence of a classical damping term on qualitative properties of solutions. Finally, we discuss the interaction of several terms in plate models such as mass and classical damping or mass and viscoelastic damping.
