A chapter in Physical and Mathematical Aspects of Symmetries, 2017, pp 381-382 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Self-adjointness of the Hamiltonian operator obtained from quantizing the classical Brans-Dicke action with a non-minimally coupled scalar field in minisuperspace is addressed. The matter field plays the role of time, introduced by Schultz’s formalism by means of a perfect fluid. We determine the conditions for self-adjointness of the Hamiltonian operator
