Abstract: Abstract We aim to calculate the electromagnetic correction for the magnetic moment of an electric-charged massive elementary particle of spin-1, the intermediate vector W-boson of the weak interaction. It is a classical (or semi-classical) calculation, which is not based on diagrams. Our purpose is not to substitute the standard calculation, but to highlight the notion of extended fields. Is it possible to simulate quantum effects by using a notion of extended field? Interestingly, there is a concept in the algebraic approach to QFT called modular localization [1] that makes use of string instead of pointlike localization.
