Abstract: Abstract The main purpose is to present a biographical portrayal of Antonio Campillo López. In addition to the most relevant aspects of his life and academic career, we offer a panoramic view of his scientific work in fields such as singularity theory, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, or coding theory. We also stress that his endeavors have been closely linked to an important work of research training, from which a thriving school has emerged. Finally, his vision and influence will be considered through his numerous institutional and scientific policy responsibilities at all levels.
