Chapter 12 in Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in Unexpected Places, 2019, pp 301-310 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This case tells the story of one of the biggest success stories of the regional ecosystem—Telerik. The company develops and offers software tools for web, mobile, desktop application development, tools and subscription services for cross-platform application development. The story offers numerous insights and lessons learned, as the company walked the whole path from a small self-supported start, through growth, to the exit. Over the years Telerik succeeds in building a global business and selling it to Progress Software in 2016 for over US$250 million. The story presents the perspective of one of the founders who shares some of the dynamics and decisions involved in transforming a small startup into a global player in the fast-growing IT marketplace, and one that makes one of the biggest exits in the region.
