Abstract: Zusammenfassung In der Wirtschafts- und Bevölkerungsstatistik kommt der Indexanalyse (lat: indicare → anzeigen, aussagen) eine besondere praktische Bedeutung zu. Die Indexanalyse hat vor allem die Beschreibung der zeitlichen und/oder räumlichen Veränderung ökonomischer oder demographischer (grch.: demos → Volk, graphein → schreiben) Phänomene mit Hilfe von Verhältniszahlen zum Gegenstand.
