Abstract:
Abstract A scheme of medical image coding is proposed. The method involves the following two steps: 1) Using hierarchical Cosine transform, a medical image is decomposed into a set of so-called compressed-units. Each unit can be transformed and computed parallely in a medical image processing system. 2) Based on the set of compressed-units, generating functions for the codebook used in the vector quantization coding method are constructed.
