Abstract:
Abstract An improved pressure-based procedure to solving Navier Stokes equations on a nonorthogonal mesh with collocated finite volume formulation is developed for incompressible flows. The boundedness criteria for this procedure are determined from NVD scheme. The procedure incorporates the K — ε eddy-viscosity turbulence model. The aim of the present study is to develop above scheme in incompressible flow and investigate the calculation of this flow around the multi-element airfoils. The results of this simulation around the multi-element airfoil MDA 30P-30N are compared with numerical data. Computation visualization of the external flows show that the algorithm presented in this paper is successful in incompressible regime for coarse meshes.
