A chapter in Current Trends in High Performance Computing and Its Applications, 2005, pp 375-379 from Springer

Abstract: Summary Based on the PIM-SM multicast protocol, the paper realized the grid job submission by building a “shared-based tree”. In the multicast group, the source submits job and members provide resources. The paper also proposed two kinds of “RP switch” methods: timing switch and gradually switch, in order to resolve bottleneck problem and capability decline of the shared-based tree. Simulation results show that multicast makes grid job submission effective and RP switch methods can improve the reliability of job submission, guarantee the QoS of grid communication.
